For 1kW solar system: - Approximately 100 sq ft of usable space - No obstructions (vents, chimneys) - Clear southern exposure (for North India)

Shading Considerations

Even partial shading significantly reduces output: - No shading: 100% efficiency - 20% shading: 50-70% efficiency - 50% shading: 20-40% efficiency

Roof Condition

Ideal roof conditions: - Age under 15 years - Good structural integrity - No leaks or damage - Easy access for maintenance
